Steve Taylor is a partner at Keker and Van Nest LLP, where he has tried a wide variety of civil and criminal cases to verdict in state and federal courts. Steve represents corporations and individuals in business litigation and white-collar criminal cases, including complex intellectual property matters, partnership disputes, securities fraud and insider-trading investigations, and professional malpractice cases. He was named a Rising Star by Northern California Super Lawyers in 2009.

Steve's recent representations include a prominent venture capital firm and one of it's partners in trade secrets and fiduciary duty claims arising out of a multi-billion dollar corporate purchase transaction; a leading internet media company in a breach of contract arbitration against the founders of a company it acquired; a major cable provider in a multi-patent MDL action; the former CEO of a public company in a criminal and SEC investigation into stock options timing; an computer hardware reseller in a criminal investigation; a local District Attorney's Office against a claim of sexual discrimination; and a major chip manufacturer at trial for the remedy phase of an ITC action involving the rights to certain 3G cellular telephone technology. He also represented several Oakland Raiders founding partners in an action against the general partner, Al Davis, to establish their limited partnership rights and for breach of fiduciary duty; the CFO of a public company accused of insider trading violations by the SEC; the president and CEO of a company charged with violating U.S. export prohibitions to Iran; and a major national law firm in litigation against a former client.

Steve joined Keker & Van Nest in 2001. He was formerly an associate at Pillsbury Madison & Sutro, LLP in San Francisco and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Samuel Conti for the Northern District of California. Steve received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School, graduating cum laude in 1999. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College, graduating cum laude in 1995.
